Flight Over the Pond (and some)

Let's see... I arrived in Berlin on the 2nd of January...

Despite being charged an extra $50 for "heavy baggage", my 11-hour Air New Zealand flight was better than imagined! The movie choices and vegetarian meals were excellent, and they both made the flight enjoyable. Not to mention the free wine put me to sleep as we flew over the Atlantic Ocean. As well as the German-dubbed version of The Town.

Upon arrival in London, I had to think of ways to kill time since I had a 7-hour layover at Heathrow. Fortunately, I (accidentally) left my Netflix copy of A Single Man in my Macbook. And then I curled up and passed out for the remainder of my airport stay. Despite the discomfort of my slumber, I was able to escape the potential jet-lag that may have resulted if I had not chosen to sleep.

My flight from London to Berlin was nothing to complain about. I had a British sandwich that was actually quite yummy. Landing in Berlin went okay, although there was air traffic, which forced my flight's landing to be delayed. I was (pleasantly) surprised, however, to discover that Berlin's airport does not have travelers go through Customs!

My brother's best friend's girlfriend, Juliane, kindly picked me up from the airport and helped me navigate the public transportation system back to her apartment.

And from there my Berlin experiences started!
